The research helps recognize the importance of the dome Muslims built over this rock to commemorate Mi'raj (thus it was known as Dome of the Rock), and follows the roots of a misconception of the Dome as separate from the Al-Aqsa Mosque. This focus relates to efforts made to correct misconceptions about this dear Mosque and to confirm that it includes every building or yard surrounded by its walls in the southeastern part of the walled old city of Jerusalem.
